Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0719645A2] A maintenance station (3) for an ink jet printer has a mobile support (4) on which is mounted a principal hood (5) and hood carrier (6). The hood, when pressed downward onto a printing head (8), prevents it from drying up when out of use. When a second printing head (10) is out of use and brought to the maintenance station, a feature of its shape (11) causes a supplementary hood (12) which fits the changed head to be moved to a position such that it operates as though it were part of the principal hood (5).
