[origin: EP0719688A2] The invention relates to a guide system for determining the position of and/or setting a transversely pivoting load-bearing base of a rail vehicle, with an adjusting unit (STE) for adjusting the transverse inclination of the load-bearing base and a measurement device (ME) for measuring system variables, in particular transverse acceleration (am) and speed (vm) of the rail vehicle. In addition, a correlator unit (KE) is provided for determining system errors ( DELTA sm) arising during measurement of the system variables (am, vm) and for determining an imprecision value (R) for the system errors ( DELTA sm), and a correction unit (KRE) for largely eliminating the system errors ( DELTA sm) in such a way that those errors ( DELTA sm) are used in accordance with their respective imprecision values (R) to correct the measured and calculated system variables (am, vm). The claimed guide system significantly enhances passenger comfort while reducing energy consumption and sparing the adjusting members.
