Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0719725A2] The crane (1) has a boom (7) which when horizontal provides a means of operating a trolley (16) on a trolley beam track (17) extending up to the end (18) of the horizontal opposite end derrick (19). The boom is held in the horizontal position by the hoist wire rope (13). The opposite end derrick is pivoted into and out of the horizontal position by a retraction mechanism (20). The boom can be pivoted about a horizontal axis at its connection (22a) with the tower (5) by a derricking cylinder for use as a derricking crane. In this situation the opposite end derricks raised.
