[origin: EP0719887A2] A process is for producing a web out of different fibres, e.g. natural fibres (wool, linen, flax) and synthetic fibres (bicomponent or melt fibres). The web is equipped with fluid finishing agents (e.g. insecticide or flameproofing) and dried. The process involves an initial production of a thin web, which is preconsolidated through heating and melting of the synthetic fibre proportion. The liquid finishing agent(s) are sprayed or applied by other means on the web. The web is dried by means of a calender (6) or another heat treatment aggregate and formed into a thicker web product in a web cross-laying machine (9). The consolidation process is completed by subjecting this packet to further heat treatment.
