[origin: EP0719938A1] The magnetic pump drive has an external rotor (6) driven by a piezo-travelling wave motor, coupled via magnets (5,7) to an internal rotor (3,4), on the opposite side of a partition wall (10) to the external rotor. The partition wall is used to separate the pumped flow medium from the drive. The external rotor may lie against the oscillatory stator (9) of the piezo-travelling wave motor, for rotation by the travelling waves at the surface of the oscillatory stator.
