Abstract (en)

The apparatus includes a device which produces a DC offset compensation value as a function of accumulated DC offset truncation errors. The compensation value is stored in a first memory (40) in response to a system configuration control signal. A second memory (60) stores a number of compensation values which are provided to the first memory in response to the control signal. The error is a function of the number of truncation stages and of the scale factor by which data at each truncation stage is multiplied relative to the nominal, non-scaled data. The value of the error is measured to produce an output measured value. The measuring device also provides the compensation value a an output with a value approximately equal to the negative of the measured value. The compensation value is added to the signal path to reduce the value of the error.
