[origin: WO9508836A1] In a gas pressure switch, two fixed switching components (2, 3) at a distance A apart are hollow to discharge switching gases and are fitted at the front with nozzle bodies (4, 5) projecting inwards by the distance A and made of a material which gives off a quenching gas component under the action an arc. The switching components are bridged in the ON position by a movable switching component which opens the disconnected section in the OFF position. There is also an arc contact system (8, 9) which draws the arc on switch-off. To combine the advantages of electrically conductive nozzle bodies with those of electrically insulating nozzle bodies, the nozzle bodies are made, according to the invention, of a slightly conductive plastic and the bridging component (6) is fitted with an arc electrode which forms the arc contact system (8, 9) with a second arc electrode (8) on the fixed sequence switching component (3).
