Abstract (en)
The covering material, designed to be resistant to slashing, consists of a layer of a supple material backed by a reinforcement made from strips (1) or filaments which are set at intervals and made from a material which resists the passage of a cutting implement. The strips or filaments are wavy in shape, either in curved lines or having straight segments (2, 3) which are regularly repeated along their length. The reinforcing strips or filaments are situated so that a cutting implement inserted in the material will inevitably encounter one of them in whichever direction it is moved. They are independent of one another and attached to the supple material layer by one or more layers of adhesive or plastics in which they are at least partially embedded. The strips can be made, for example, from plain or reinforcing plastic or a composition material reinforced with glass or carbon fibres, e.g. Kevlar (RTM).

Dans cette structure de revêtement, l'armature est constituée de bandes (1) ou de fils, espacés les uns des autres, en un matériau apte à s'opposer au passage d'un objet coupant, chaque bande ou fil ayant un profil sinueux constitué de motifs incurvés et/ou de motifs comprenant des segments rectilignes (2, 3) se répétant régulièrement, les motifs analogues des différentes bandes ou fils étant disposés de façon à se juxtaposer ou à s'imbriquer dans des positions correspondantes telles que chaque bande ou fil soit espacé des bandes ou fils contigus d'un intervalle imposant à un objet tranchant entraîné suivant un trajet rectiligne de rencontrer nécessairement en toute direction une bande ou un fil sur son trajet. <IMAGE>
