[origin: EP0721093A2] The refrigerator has a vegetables container (4) positioned beneath a horizontal storage shelf (11), with the width of the shelf from front to back shortened so that the front part of the vegetables container projects beyond it. The latter front part is fitted with a cover (15), which can be pivoted backwards over the front edge of the storage shelf, to provide access to the vegetables container. Pref. the cover has a rear bearing arm (16) which fits beneath the front edge of the shelf, with an upwards projecting bearing edge (17) defining the pivot point.
