Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9509280A2] An offshore platform structure for well operations in deep water areas comprises: a bottom founded jacket base (12); a surface tower (28) and platform deck (32) supported by the jacket base (12) and extending above the water surface (30); and a subsea rig support interface (26) presented at the top of the jacket base (12) and adapted to receive a jack-up rig (34) for well operations. Preferably the structure is equipped with two stage pile sleeves (20) that are connected at the foot of the structure such that after removal of the second stage the first stage of each sleeve is preserved for re-deployment, thereby facilitating reuse of the structure. The removable mounting of a jack-up rig (34) on a reusable structure increases the flexibility of field development in deep water areas.
