Abstract (en)
The applicator consists of a housing (1) which acts as a reservoir (3) for the product and contains an applicator brush (7) which can move between extended and retracted positions. A second section (2) of the housing is closed by a stopper (5) on the inside of a screw cap to prevent the viscous product from escaping. A cylindrical partition (17) is impermeable to the cosmetic product but allows the solvent contained in it to pass through, preventing the product from drying out or increasing in viscosity. The partition, which surrounds the brush (7) when it is in its retracted position, is made from a porous material, produced e.g. by fitting or agglomeration of fibres, or it can have a solid wall with narrow capillary slits or holes of very small diameter.

Applicateur de produit cosmétique visqueux comportant un corps (1,2) d'applicateur constituant un réservoir (3,15) pour le produit cosmétique, ce corps (1,2) contenant un organe applicateur (7,8,9) susceptible d'être déplacé entre une position fermée dans laquelle l'organe applicateur (7,8,9) est complètement engagé à l'intérieur du corps (1,2) et une position ouverte dans laquelle l'organe applicateur (7,8,9) fait saillie hors du corps de l'applicateur qui peut être obturé par un bouchon (5) lorsque l'organe applicateur (7,8,9) est situé à son intérieur. <IMAGE>
