Abstract (en)
A process for producing a liquid crystal device, comprising:(a) providing a pair of substrates (102,103), dispersing adhesive particles (106) on one substrate and dispersing rigid spacer particles (105) having an average diameter smaller than that of the adhesive particles on the other substrate,(b) superposing said one and the other substrates with each other so that the adhesive particles and the rigid spacer particles are disposed between the substrates,(c) applying a heat and a pressure to bond the substrates with adhesive particles in a cured and depressed state while leaving a gap determined by the rigid spacer particles between the substrates, and(d) disposing a liquid crystal (104) at the gap between the substrates to form a liquid crystal cell.
