Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0722157A1] The antitheft protection system uses modules e.g. electronic cards installed within the goods and wired advantageously via the mains distribution network (4) to a control centre (1). Each module incorporates a microcontroller, a modem for binary carrier communication over the network, a radio transceiver and a movement detector sending a binary signal to the microcontroller. Any alarm signal radioed from a module to the control centre is acknowledged with a request for confirmation over the fixed link (4). Should be module be no longer connected, a request for confirmation by radio can be sent after a fixed or programmable delay. In either instance the centre awaits the confirmation before sending a message by telephone (11) and/or sounding a siren (12).
