Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0723064A2] The frame has inner and outer hollow metal mouldings (19,20), which are linked to one another by at least one fire-resistant connector (21), which is arranged between them. The connector is set back from one or more of the end wall surfaces (22,23) of the mouldings, in order to form a continuous longitudinal gap (13). The end wall surfaces and the gap are covered by a strip (15), and the gap accommodates a material (14) which produces a foam in the event of a fire. The strip also melts in such an event, before the foaming temperature is reached, in order to allow the heat to gain access to the material.
