[origin: EP0724021A1] Production of an electrically conductive cermet with less than 35% by volume of a noble metal by mixing powders of a highly heat-resistant ceramic and a noble metal, moulding a green body of this powder mixture and sintering to form a cermet consisting of a dense ceramic phase and a cohesive net of a metallic phase is novel in that a noble metal powder is used which during sintering and formation of a metallic phase exhibits a smaller volume reduction and a smaller sinter activity than the ceramic powder during formation of a ceramic phase.
