[origin: EP0724051A1] The handle comprises a base (12) which fits into an aperture in the door panel and has a thrust surface (14) which goes against the outside of the panel. A control bar (16) is pivoted to the base and moves between a rest position and a lock release position; it is also connected to the lock mechanism. The base is attached to the door panel by a mobile fixing element (20) which moves between an assembly position and a fixing position while it is being fitted. The mobile element (20) is in the form of a cylindrical peg with one or more radial fingers (24) projecting from its free end. The peg is pivoted to the base about an axis perpendicular to the door panel, passing through a shaped aperture (55) in the door panel (54) which has radial slots corresponding to the fingers (24), and then turning into its fixing position, when the fingers move away from the slots and engage with notches between them.
