Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0724052A1] The handle comprises a base (12) which fits into an aperture in the door panel and has a thrust surface (14) which goes against the external surface of the door panel, and a control bar (16) which is pivoted to the base, moves between rest and lock release positions and is connected to the lock mechanism. The base (12) is attached to the door panel by a fixing mechanism (22) which slides into place during assembly by the action of a cam (26) on the control bar (16) which operates during the bar's first movement between its rest and locking positions. The fixing mechanism comprises a wedge (22) which slides on the base and has an inclined upper surface which interacts with a T-shaped reaction element on the base which protrudes through a slot in the door panel.
