[origin: EP0725005A1] The tape wrap machine has the items to be wrapped moved onto a work table (3) by a conveyor (4). The tape is fed from a supply under the work table and is ducted upwards, through a free air path (17) by compressed air jets (23). A mechanical duct (16) above the work table feeds the tape back to the work table either via a mechanical duct or by a compressed air drive. The tape is fed back under the work table by a final mechanical duct (13) and is welded to the other end, to form a loop after a tension drive. The free air paths for the tape are controlled by compressed air drives and with a funnel guide (26) at the other end of each air gap to catch the tape.
