Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0592828A1] The invention relates to a flat can (4) for the reception of fibre sliver which is delivered by cards or drafting frames. The object of the invention is to achieve, during the filling of a traversing flat can (4), an orderly sliver deposition which allows fault-free sliver extraction, specifically at economical depositing speeds, such as are possible in the case of round cans. One feature of the invention is that the can plate (140) of the flat can (4) is lowered in relation to the upper can bead (5). Furthermore, the surface (17) of the can plate (140) is structured, so that the static friction relative to the fibre sliver is increased. A further feature is that the side walls are corrugated in the vicinity of the top edge or over the entire surface. A further feature of the invention is that only one pantograph (120) is arranged between the two helical springs (110, 111) arranged in the end portions of the can plate (140). This single pantograph (120) is arranged centrally relative to the can plate (140). Arranged horizontally at the intersection points of this pantograph (120) are struts (16, 160) which are mounted rotatably at the respective intersection point. The ends of the struts (16, 160) are connected in an articulated manner to the respective opposite helical spring (110, 111). <IMAGE>
