[origin: WO9512783A1] A candlestick for a candle or a taper with a heat-conducting burner pan (2) and a holder (3C) arranged centrally therein which is a heat conducting ring (3C) in which the lower core region of the candle or taper is fitted and which is surrounded by a lower outer region of the candle or taper, and in which the height of the heat conducting ring (3C) is about half that of the candle flame, its width is about double the diameter of the candle flame and has lateral ventilation apertures (30C), at least one of which extends as an inlet aperture for liquefied candle material to the lowest point of the holder and in which a wick holder (HW) is arranged centrally on the base of the heat conducting ring (3C) and the holder (2) and the wick holder (HW) are secured to be heat-insulated. The wick holder (HW) consists of a coil of wire and makes it possible to burn off the residue of the wick.
