[origin: WO9507478A1] A break-out tray (T) is disclosed for separating the fibre end portions formed by cutting one or more fibres of a multi-fibre cable (C) from the remaining fibres in the cable. The break-out tray (T) includes means (B) for guiding the fibre end portions to a fibre exit portion of the tray, and means (3) for storing a length of uncut cable.
