[origin: EP0726422A2] The light has a tub-shaped base housing to contain fittings, especially to hold fluorescent tubes. It has a cover to close off the open side of the housing, which is transparent at least in the area of the tubes, and is at least partly sunk into a recess (16) in the housing. The cover has a device for fastening it and releasing it from the housing. A sealing strip (11) is arranged in a gap (29) between the outer circumferential surface (28) of the cover and the inner circumferential surface (17) of the recess. The gap is filled or almost completely filled by the strip, and its outer side in the region of the gap aligns or nearly aligns with the outer surfaces of the cover which encloses these and of the housing.
