The rotary switch has a central spindle to which the manually operated knob is attached. Within the housing the spindle carries a profiled cam element (15) that operates the movable contacts. The movable contacts (10) are pressed metal elements profiled (24) to behave as leaf springs. A section is shaped (25) as a cam follower and the contact tip engages a pad on a fixed carrier (9). Movable contact carriers are positioned on both sides of the cam. Pins set into the base limit the angle of rotation. A spring loaded indent mechanism defines the contact switch points.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen kompakten Drehschalter mit mehreren nebeneinander in einer Ebene angeordneten Kontaktanordnungen. Um den Einbauraum für eine Vielzahl der Kontaktanordnungen zu verringern, sind die Kontaktanordnungen (7) in zwei Ebenen angeordnet, welche jeweils eine der beiden miteinander verrastbaren Gehäusehälften (1,2) zugeordnet sind. Die Betätigung der Kontaktanordnungen (7) haben wohl durch eine Drehbewegung einer Nockenwelle (15 bis 17) als auch deren Längsverschiebung erfolgen. Der Schalter besitzt Rastmittel (40,41), welcher die Schalterstellung sowohl hinsichtlich der Längsstellung des Drehgriffs (32) als auch dessen Winkelstellung festlegen. Um eine größere Festigkeit zu erhalten, sind die Verbindungsstücke (20) der Kontaktstücke (9) bzw. der Kontaktzungen (10) zumindest teilweise mit den beiden Gehäusehälften (1,2) vergossen. <IMAGE>
