The seat surface (3) for at least one person sitting on it is continuously adjustable in height by a motor driven lifting mechanism (5). The lifting mechanism is incorporated in a central column (4) of the frame (2). The control (5c) for the lifting mechanism is positioned on the seat surface. The frame has at least three laterally cantilevered supports (2a) pointing towards the floor. An auxiliary support surface (6) swivels out horizontally and laterally on the frame and acts as a seat (6') for a carer or sales staff. A backrest (8) with a headrest (9) and or integrated loudspeakers are positioned on the back of the seat.

Zur Erreichung einer bequemen Sitzhaltung und einfacheren Nutzung eines Sitzmöbels (1), insbesondere in Hockerform, mit einem sich am Boden abstützenden Gestell (2) und wenigstens einer daran befestigten Sitzfläche (3) für wenigstens eine Person, wird vorgeschlagen, daß die Sitzfläche (3) zusammen mit der darauf sitzenden Person mittels eines motorischen Hubantriebes (5) um etwa die Gestellhöhe (H) stufenlos höhenverstellbar ist. Weiterhin wird vorgeschlagen, unter der Sitzfläche (3) oder an der Rückenlehne (8) einen bevorzugt verschließbaren Stauraumbehälter (11) auszubilden, ohne die Bewegungsfreiheit der auf der Sitzfläche (3) sitzenden Person zu beeinträchtigen. <IMAGE>
