The spreaders extend lengthwise parallel to the lengthwise direction of the binder spine. An expander control (60) is connected to the first spreader to move it in relation to the second spreader. The first and second spreader have a row of first (80) and second (86) hooks extending in the lengthwise direction of the spreaders. The looped fingers (88) of the binder spine fit into the second hooks of the second spreader at the same time as fitting into the first hooks of the first spreader.
