[origin: EP0727796A2] The keyboard (1) has a carrier (11) and a cover plate (12). The latter is arranged above the carrier (11) via a spacer (13). The carrier (11) and the cover plate (12) enclose a diaphragm switch chamber (14) in which contact elements (21,22,23) are arranged. The cover plate is preferably made of electrically conductive material. One contact element (23) is preferably formed as a short circuit bridge and is insulated from the cover plate (12). An insulating layer in the form of an insulating lacquer layer may be provided between the cover plate (12) and the contact element (23). An adhesive may be provided between the cover plate and the insulating layer. The contact elements (21,22,23) may be in the form of lacquer preferably formed on the carrier (11) and/or the cover plate (12) by screen printing.
