An overheating prevention system for an electric heater (esp. a flow-through heater), having an insulating body (10) with a connection element (14) and a contact arrangement (16, 17, 19) for electrical contact prodn. between the connection element (14) and a heating element (4), comprises a spring element (21) which is pre-tensioned in the contact opening direction and which, in the heater operating condition, is compressed into a contact closure state by an actuating element (22) directly supported on the heating element (4) by its end section (23) with a defined softening temp. Pref. the end section (23) consists of electrically non-conductive material, pref. fibre-reinforced plastic, esp. glass fibre-reinforced thermoplastic polyester, with a melting temp. of 210-240 (pref. 225) degrees C.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Übertemperatursicherung für eine ein elektrisches Heizelement (4) aufweisende Heizeinrichtung, insbesondere einen Durchflußerhitzer, mit einem Isolierkörper (10), der ein elektrisches Anschlußelement (14) und elektrische Kontaktmittel (16, 17, 19) zur Herstellung eines elektrischen Kontaktes zwischen dem Anschlußelement und dem Heizelement aufweist. Es ist ein auf ein Kontaktmittel (19) wirkendes, in Kontaktöffnungsrichtung vorgespanntes Federelement (21) vorgesehen, das im Arbeitszustand der Heizeinrichtung in einen der Kontaktschließstellung entsprechenden Zustand gedrückt ist durch ein Kunststoffstift (22), der sich mit einem Endabschnitt (23) mit definierter Schmelztemperatur direkt an dem Heizelement (4) abstützt. Die Übertemperatursicherung zeichnet sich durch eine besonders kurze Ansprechzeit aus. <IMAGE>
