Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0727893A1] The method involves determining the instants (ti) when the signal exceeds a predetermined maximum (M) value. This is detected by analysis of a series of samples taken from the signal in a 'window' of time (W) positioned w.r.t. a local clock. The amplitude differences between successive samples are determined. The configuration of the amplitude differences is compared with known configurations representing acceptable maxima. When no correspondence is found, the frequency of the local clock is modified slightly to re-establish a sufficiently close similarity with an acceptable format.
