Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0728857A1] To wind a band of yarns, esp. yarns drawn from a creel to be wound round a warping beam, a monitor registers a yarn break for a control to stop the warping machine . On receipt of a monitoring signal, the control accesses the monitors again, in succession, to give an indiction of the local site of a separate yarn break. Also claimed is an appts. where the control has a computer to interrogate the monitor or its connected matrix when a monitor signal is registered. It has a s = 1 to s = x programmable memory and a comparison unit so that, with a monitoring signal for a programmed memory slot, a blocking or switching off command can be generated for the winder together with a signal to identify the particular monitor.
