[origin: WO9513045A1] The therapy-blanket filled with balls is sewn as a quilted blanket in squares each filled with balls. It has a calming effect when it is placed on top of the user, who is lying down, and is tucked into the body. The pressure of the blanket has a calming and delimitation effect, because the impulses from the proprioceptive sensory system and the tactile sensory system send inhibitory and organizing impulses to the central nervous system. It can be used by psychiatric patients, who are psychotic, anxious and restless. Other patients with senile dementia, mentally retarded patients, and children with sensory integration problems can also benefit from using the therapy-blanket.
