[origin: WO9609937A1] The invention concerns a castor (3) with a running wheel (4), an attachment pin (9) and a fork (15), the latter mounted on an attachment pin (9) so as to rotate about a vertical axis (8), and with a catch element (11) which engages with a notch recess (13, 25) and is mounted so as to rotate about a substantially horizontal axis (10) to allow switching between an engaged position and a release position by changing the direction of turn of the running wheel (4). The catch element (11) in addition is provided with a catch arm (23) on a first side of the axis (10) and a second actuating arm on the other side of the axis (10). To ensure reliable operation, the invention proposes that a driving component (5, 2) which engages with the running wheel (4) and can pivot relative to the actuating arm (24) should be provided on the actuating arm.
