[origin: EP0729814A1] A process is disclosed for producing composite particle board from rice husk. The rice husk is cleaned and may be split prior to admixture with a substantially moisture-free resin to form a furnish. The furnish is spread to form a layer which is then subjected to the step of hot pressing and cooling. The resin comprises a condensation product of cashew nut shell liquid and/or cardanol with phenol paraformaldehyde and alkaline catalyst.
