Abstract (en)
The separator uses cyclonic action to separate oil from the ventilation air which is bled from the crank case of an internal combustion engine, and has a horizontal separation channel (2) in the shape of a spiral. The channel has an outer inlet opening (3) for the air and oil mixture, and a downwards pointing central outlet for the separated oil. It also has stream cross sections which are equal or which reduce radially inwards. The height of the channel is many times smaller than the outer diameter of the cyclonic region. The plane of the spiral is parallel to a membrane (10) in the induction space (6), and this space and the channel border a common central wall with an opening (5). The membrane may be directly mounted and sealed radially outwards in the wall of the crank case.

Ein Zyklonabscheider für die Kurbelgehäuse-Entlüftung eines Verbrennungsmotors mit einem membranbetätigten Entlüftungsventil (7) soll kleinbauend und einfach aufgebaut sein sowie einen guten Ölabscheidegrad gewährleisten. Zu diesem Zweck ist der Zyklonabscheider als horizontal verlaufender spiralförmiger Abscheidekanal (2) mit von radial außen nach innen gleichen oder kleiner werdenden Querschnitten und mit im Verhältnis zum größten Außendurchmesser des Zyklonteiles um ein Vielfaches geringerer Kanalhöhe ausgebildet. Des weiteren verläuft der Spiralkanal (2) zwischen einer radial außen liegenden Ansaugöffnung (3) für die anzusaugende ölbeladene Luft und einer zentral innen lotrecht unten liegenden Abflußöffnung (4) für das abgeschiedene Öl. Der Spiralkanal (2) ist mit seiner Spiralebene parallel zu der Membran (10) des Ansaugraumes (6) ausgerichtet, wobei der Spiralkanal (2) und der Ansaugraum (6) an einer gemeinsamen im Zentrum des Zyklonbereiches mit einer Öffnung (5) versehenen Wand angrenzen. <IMAGE>
