[origin: EP0730833A1] The press consists of a support (20) with a surrounding plate, and a hollow cover (1) carrying a supple membrane (2) over a chamber with a compressed gas feed and an actuating mechanism to raise or lower it. The compressed gas duct feeding the membrane chamber passes through a hinge with a hollow shaft (12) and an outer rotary member (14), designed so that the gas feed is automatically closed when the cover is raised and opened when the cover is lowered to apply a pressure to the membrane. The membrane chamber contains an inner support (9) to apply a pressure to a specific portion of the membrane, and the cover is raised and lowered by a power cylinder (13).
