Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0731025A1] The packaging of string beans (1) comprises lining up the products in a first horizontal direction (2) in a bag (3). The case (7) is placed with its longitudinal axis in this first direction and its end opening (8) facing the bag. A tubular part (9) is provided between the bag and near the opening along the first direction. The products are accelerated and guided into the tube towards the opening before introduction in the case. A succession of cases are moved past the tube on conveyor. A light compression is exerted on the threadlike products in the tube. The tube is made longer than the products and has a cover of complementary shape to the bag.
