[origin: EP0731195A1] A number of identical spinning positions are serviced by a travelling service unit which removes the relevant elements and replaces them with serviced elements in exchange. The elements which were removed are taken by the service unit to a service station. After servicing they are again brought to one of the spinning positions allocated to the service station for common exchange with elements to be serviced.
