[origin: EP0731210A2] A machine for milling suspended fibrous material, esp. paper or cellulose fibres, comprises a case (1) with openings for material input and discharge (5,6) at least two carriers for milling tools, i.e. powdered rotor (2) and stator (3) suitable for assembly of tools into at least one working (7) and one complementary second surface (8) facing each other to form a milling gap (9) through which the material flows. at least one surface carries edge-shaped projections or blades (10,11) between which are duct-like grooves for carrying at least some material from the interior outwards. The material is mechanically worked by relative movement of the surface. There are at least three blades one after the other as viewed in the groove or flow direction with intervening open spaces (a', a") of 8mm. min.. Also claimed is the milling tool for the machine where the tools are arranged in pairs to form the two complementary milling surfaces carrying many milling blades arranged as above.
