Abstract (en)
The pump has an additional gas inlet (12, 13 or 14) between the suction intake flange (10) and gas outlet opening (11) so that a cooling gas can be supplied through same to the pump chamber to cool the pump and its rotor. The heat conductivity of the cooling gas is high compared to the heat conductivity of the gas to be compressed. The internal friction of the cooling gas is small compared to that of the gas to be pumped. The cooling gas should have a molecular weight lower than that of the gas to be pumped. The amount supplied is measured so that it does not interfere with the pumping process but produces optimum cooling.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Molekularvakuumpumpe, bei welcher der Rotor durch die Zuführung von Kühlgas gekühlt wird. Als Kühlgas wird ein Gas mit großer Wärmeleitfähigkeit und geringer innerer Reibung verwendet. Die zugeführte Menge ist so bemessen, daß sie einerseits den Pumpprozess nicht stört und andererseits eine optimale Kühlung bewirkt. Der Einlaß (12,13,14) kann auf der Hochvakuumseite, auf der Vorvakuumseite oder über eine Zwischenposition erfolgen. <IMAGE>
