Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0731320A2] The purification apparatus is of suitable dimensions to be placed next to a person in the room to provide an area of air free of noxious substances. The room air drawn into the upper part of the apparatus through a ventilator (6) passes through a micro-fine air filter insert element (2) so that pollen, bacteria, particles and other types of dust are effectively absorbed through mechanical and electrostatic filtration. Gaseous substances and micro organisms are eliminated when absorbed by activated carbon cassettes (4,5). The activated carbon is continuously regenerated through ozone. This ensures the breakdown of ozone which splits into oxygen.
