[origin: EP0732203A1] The mechanism is for plates (2) with bent over edges (3,4), there being a narrow axial slot (8) in the cylinder (1) accommodating both the leading and trailing ends. The clamping spindle (16) turns in a bore (14) in the cylinder, and has individual spring tines (21) round the periphery, by which it engages in perforations (11) in the trailing end (4) of the plate. A rack-type strip with prongs can be mounted on the spindle, being formed by a leaf spring. The spindle and tines can be movable beyond the working position. To release the plate, the tine top surfaces can be brought to bear against the end face of a flange on the plate.
