Abstract (en)
The cylindrical liquid spray container (1) has an aluminium body (2) and a plastic cap (3). The body consists of a compartment (4) containing liquid (5) and a separate compartment (6) containing propellant gas (7). A piston (8) with a toroidal joint (9) contained within the internal wall (17) separates the two compartments. The cap protects a spray assembly constituted by a valve (10) on which is inserted a control rod (11). The rod has a shoulder (12) on which is supported a peg (13) with an orifice and a channel (14) discharging into a liquid spray nozzle (15). The cap has a push button (16) for operating the spray. On the internal wall are regularly spaced scratches (18) extending to a depth of 30 mu m into the wall. These scratches are obtained by brushing the wall with a rotating metal hair brush. The scratches ensure sealing between the piston and the wall. The propellant gas and liquid are sealed from each other by means of scratches in the container internal wall avoiding the use of varnish coatings normally used for this purpose.
