[origin: WO9515878A1] The aim of the invention is to provide a self-propelled rail vehicle for setting up poles in a rational manner. The self-propelled rail vehicle has two triple-axle bogies (2) on the track (1). It has a cab (3) for the operating staff and a movable balance weight (4), while a crane (5) is also fitted on the load platform. The crane (5) has an extending jib (6). The crane (5) can be transferred from one turntable to the other. One goods truck loaded with poles is coupled in front of and another behind. Owing to its positioning facilities, the crane can reach first one truck and then the other.
