[origin: EP0733763A1] The door closer has an energy accumulator, for closing the door wing, pref. with a closing spring. The energy accumulator is at least partly loaded by manual opening movement of the door and is at least partly unloaded for closing the door. The energy accumulator has a first and a second energy accumulator part. Closure of the door is achieved by normal operation via unloading the first part and closure is supported via unloading the second part. A device is provided for regulating or adjusting the closing and/or opening velocity of the door and is pref. a hydraulic or pneumatic damping device using a piston cylinder unit. Unloading of the second part is dependant of a time element (33a) and/or a sensor device for controlling the closing action.
