Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0733850A2] The high-brilliance, preferably halogen, lamp (1) in combination with a reflector (2) radiates a parallel beam into a housing (3) containing a series of preferably five or more concave semitransparent or dichroic mirrors (4). Each mirror directs a portion of the incident light downwards through a lens (5) giving the desired distribution curve. Its reflectance can be varied by adjustment of the inclination to the direction of the incident beam (l1). Dazzle is avoided as the filament of the lamp cannot be seen directly from below.
