[origin: EP0733858A2] The heater has a fuel supply (14) and a fan (10) to feed air for combustion. A control value for regulating the fuel supply is derived from a Venturi nozzle (30) in the airstream, in order to optimise the combustion by maintaining a fuel-air mixture within a predetermined performance band. The Venturi nozzle is arranged upstream of the fan, and allows the pressure difference across the nozzle to be ascertained by a fuel regulator (32). The pressure may be sensed by pipes (34,36) located at the outlet (38) and a constricted part (40) of the nozzle, and the fuel supply may be fed into the airstream in a pipe (12) in the region of the fan.
