[origin: EP0733863A2] The pressure compensating container has a rigid holder housing having a supply connection and an outlet connection for the fluid and an elastic membrane (10) inside the housing. The membrane divides the holder into a fluid chamber and a gas chamber. The membrane has an upper ring-formed section (13) of a ring projection type which is provided above a section having a straight cross-section (16). The membrane also has, or alternatively has, a lower ring-formed section (14) of a ring projection type provided underneath the section with a straight cross-section. The membrane has a concave inward curvature (17) provided between the upper and/or the lower ring-formed section.
