[origin: EP0733939A1] The novel feature in a light-sensitive Ag halide material esp. used for high contrast black-and-white negatives is that the contrast-increasing or ''booster'' cpd. used in combination with a hydrazine cpd. in the light-sensitive or adjoining layer contains a tert. amino gp. and also a sulphonyl-urea or -urethane or sulphuryl-diamide gp., esp. being a cpd. of formula (A), (B) or (C), where R<1>-R<4> = opt. substd. 1-6C alkyl or opt. substd. benzyl or R<1>/R<2> or R<3>/R<4> form a 5-12 membered ring with the attached N, the ring opt. contg. O, carbonyl gps. and/or further N atoms; X, X<1> and X<2> = divalent gps.; R = alkyl, aralkyl or aryl (each opt. substd.) or, when bonded to N, also H S = -SO2.NR<5>.CO.NR<6>-, -SO2.NR<7>.COO- or -NR<8>.SO2.NR<9> - each attached as such or in reverse order in (A)-(C); and R<5>-R<9> = H or opt. substd. 1-6C alkyl or opt. substd. benzyl.
