Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0734035A1] The circuit breaker includes a chamber (10) which encloses within the coil (16), a metal radiator (46), made with a number of fins (48) and put into contact with the fixed arc contact (12) to cool hot gases. The radiator is stuck to the internal wall by a tubular sleeve (26), separated from the coil by an insulating covering (24) in magnetic material to strengthen the magnetic field in the arc region. The fixed contact is an annular track formed on the internal edge of the front surface of the coil while the moving contact is held by a spring (32) against the fixed contact and is linked to the chamber wall by a leakage channel (43). The gas chosen is notably sulphur hexafluoride (SF6).
