[origin: WO9515060A1] An illumination system (10) for an endoscopic camera has a plurality of light emitting diodes mounted to a substrate (20). The substrate is adapted for attachment at the distal end of the endoscope. Each LED (22) is contained within a reflector cup (21) which directs the angular dispersion of emitted light toward the object to be viewed.
