A cyclone for separating dust from a gas such as the intake air to an IC engine has a cylindrical housing (1) with an air inlet and outlet, to which a dust-collecting chamber (5) is attached with a bayonet connector (11). The housing has deflecting blades (2) to generate vortices. There are more blades (9) near the air outlet (8) for the purified gas. These convert the vortex flow of the air into linear flow and thereby reduce the flow resistance. The gas flows upwards through the cyclone and reverses by 180 deg. at the top before emerging. The lid of the dust collector has snap connectors and a handle.

Es wird ein Zyklon insbesondere zur Staubvorabscheidung bei Gasen vorgeschlagen. Dieses Zyklon besteht aus einem Kunststoffgehäuse (1) an dem mittels eines Bajonettverschlusses (11) ein Staubsammelbehälter (5) angeordnet ist. Das Kunststoffgehäuse (1) weist Leitschaufeln (2) auf zur Drallerzeugung. Im Bereich der Luftaustrittsöffnung (8) sind ebenfalls Leitschaufeln (9) vorgesehen. Diese richten die Drallströmung der Luftströmung in eine Linearströmung und verringern damit den Strömungswiderstand. Das Zyklon weist folgende Vorteile auf: Es besitzt eine flache Bauweise, die Verbindung der einzelnen Teile erfolgt mit einfachen Elementen, wie beispielsweise Bajonettverschluß (11) oder Schnappverbindung, der Staubsammelraum (6) ist durch die Geometrie des Gehäuses (1) stark vergrößert, damit verlängern sich die Wartungsintervalle. <IMAGE>
